| Dear Parents:
There is some very important information below. Please read carefully. Our coaches will be talking to the kids about a lot of things and I would appreciate it if you could help reinforce our organization's philosophies. Our number one objective is to have your child say at the end of the year, “That was great, I love lacrosse and I can't wait ‘til next year.
SBYL priorities are:
1) Family, 2) School, 3) Lacrosse … in that order. It's the right thing to miss lacrosse for grandma's 80 th birthday or a school project. Other than that we need you at practice. Your teammates are counting on you to be in shape and know your assignments.
We expect 2 things of Rebels Lacrosse players:
1) Effort (every day – your teammates are counting on you):
Be at practice
Be on time (don't be getting dressed during warm ups)
Work your hardest on every drill
Know your assignments, study your plays, study the rules
Practice your stick skills at home (outdoors)
2) Sportsmanship (is not just shaking hands after a game):
Respect your teammates every day at practice (you need each other)
Respect your opponents (includes no trash talk)
Respect the coaches (listen when they're talking)
Respect the officials (expect some missed calls, it even happens in the pros, don't complain: play around it)
Respect the parents and fans
Respect the community you represent
Lastly, wear your pinnie every day and bring a water bottle.
If something is on your mind talk to your coach or call me or email! We all at SBYL want your child to have a great experience.
Go Rebels!!!
